CLIP IN HAIR faq's
Clip in hair is a fuss free easy way to rock long hair in your own way. Im noticing a few of the same questions popping up from our beautiful clients and friends, so I have put together for you the top 8 questions we get asked about clip in hair. Have a read if your thinking about gettin some! OR if you have a set already and need a lil maintenance re-fresh. #1 How often should I wash my clip-in hair? As a general rule, the less you wash your extensions the longer they will last. You can use your best judgement on how often to wash them, however, we recommend only washing them once there is a lot ofproduct build-up. If your extensions feel like they’re becoming increasingly difficult to style, this is likely a sign that they need to be washed. We recommend washing them after every 30 ish wears. #2 Do I need to wash my Hair extensions before I wear them? No, Your Hair extensions are ready to wear straight away! You do not need to wash them before wearing. #3 What products should I use on my clip-in Hair extensions? Keeping your extensions moisturised is crucial, considering they don’t have a natural hydration source like our own hair. The correct hair products make all the difference to r your extensions and how long they'll last. Stick to your stylists recommendations. We love #Pravanamoisture range AND #AngelHair extensions home haircare range. #4 Why use alcohol/sulphate-free shampoo and conditioner? Purchasing sulphate-free and alcohol-free products is a necessity as they are imperative to maintain the health of your extensions. (and your natural hair!) These ingredients strip the hair of its natural oils and will affect the hairs integrity. This makes the hair drier and prone to tangling or matting. Be sure to check the ingredient listing and ensure you don’t see the words: SLS, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Alcohol Denat, Ethanol, SD Alcohol 40, Propanol, Isopropyl, and Propyl. #5 Do I need to wash my extensions after curling to make them straight again?
Feel Free to use your heat protector spray and go over them with your straighter.
#6 Do hair extensions dry straight?
Be sure to brush the extensions straight before air-drying overnight if you prefer to wear them straight.
Some sets can have a slight wave but can be styled with hot tools to achieve any desired look.
#7 Should i wash the actual clips/wefts (the tops)?
Not all the time, especially if you are not applying product to this area.
The area holds the moisture a bit longer and takes longer to dry, so keep that in mind if you are washing them and want to wear them again asap without blow drying them.
#8 Can they be coloured?
Yes - and no.
Going darker is absolutely fine but never never get them lightened. They will feel like straw!
That is about it for now.
